Greater Masaka Pro Asp Paul Kangave Speaking

Police in Sembabule District have arrested a man for hacking his wife to death on the wee hours of Thursdays morning.
The suspect who is undergoing medical treatment has been identified as Steven Kusasira 43 years a resident of Nakarerwe village Mbuye parish Lugusulu Sub County who murdered his wife one Elizabeth Kisakye aged 46 by chopping of her head using a machete.

According to Greater Masaka police spokesperson ASP Paul Kangave revealed that police arrived at the scene after getting a tip from an informer and found out that the suspected killer had also tried to commit suicide by slitting his throat after committing a heinous act.‘’we visited the scene, used our canine and arrested the suspect, who we have found attempting to commit suicide.’’ he said

He added’ Suspect rushed to Masaka referral hospital for medical attention as he had cut his throat using panga’’.
Police later recovered the blood stained Panga as an exhibit as the investigations are going on.
The local residents have told police detectives that two have been having family misunderstandings for so long.
