So Quick! Why Gen. M7 Fired Air-force Commander

The President of Uganda who doubles as the commander of Chief of the armed Forces, His excellency Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has on December 2/2019 replaced his trusted blue eyed Maj. General Paul Lokech from the position of Chief of staff Air force barely after serving close to five months.

TheCapitaltimes has learnt that new appointments were disclosed through a radio message, which was sent to CDF, Gen David Muhoozi, his Deputy, Lt Gen Wilson Mbaddi and other UPDF Commanders revealing thathas been replaced by Brig. Charles Okidi who has been the acting Director Operations in Air force.

However, the UPDF and Ministry of Defence spokesperson Brig.Gen Richard Karemire later confirmed the changes. “It is true the Commander in Chief who also doubles as the President of Uganda Gen.Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has made some changes in the UPDF and all affected officers must report to their new places of deployment,” Brig. Gen Karemire said.

Other UPDF Officers who were also affected in the mini reshuffle included Brig. Francis Takirwa who was the Chief of Education and Sports, has been appointed Commander Second Infantry Division and has been replaced by Brig. Wilson Muhabuzi.

Brig. Sam Omara who has been serving as Director In charge of Regional Affairs has been appointed Defence attaché in Algeria.

Recently President Museveni had assigned Gen Lokech with special assignment in Juba South Sudan Capital. Insiders in UPDF told this website that Gen Lokech is groomed to take over as the Commander Land Forces replacing Lt Gen Peter Elweru who will soon be assigned to other duties.
