Stop Reckless Life Styles -CDF Gen Muhoozi Urges Parents

The Chief of Defence Forces Gen.David Muhoozi has urged all parents to always make their children the first soldiers before joining the army by imparting discipline and morals at their young age.

The CDF made the remarks during the end of year children’s party, which was held at 2nd Division headquarters in Makenke Mbarara District. Gen Muhoozi always makes end of year Children’s party and it rotates in different divisions.

Gen.Muhoozi says the world today needs children who are morally upright in order to become better citizens of tomorrow. “When we are recruiting people to join UPDF we consider discipline and moral character and who ever is found with no discipline we can not allow him or her join the army,” he says adding that UPDF also imparts discipline to its soldiers.

The Army boss went on to say that, children need to receive tender love from their parents, good nurturing, mentoring and utmost care when they are still young.

Gen Muhoozi observed that family touches the hearts and minds of all soldiers and impacts on the performance of soldiers on duty.

Speaking at the same function, the outgoing Commander Second Division Brig Gen Kayanja Muhanga thanked the CDF for supporting the end of year children’s party and went on to reveal that this is the first of its kind in the Division .

The Division Commander further pointed out that because CDF is a parent, he really embraces the idea of celebrating the end of year children’s party.

The function that ran under the theme “Promoting positive growth and development of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces’ Family, was attended by among others the Mbarara Resident District Commissioner Lt Col. James Mwesigye, the incoming second Division Commander Brig Gen Francis Takirwa, the head of UPDF Spouses Desk Mrs Rebecca Mugume and local leaders.
