The Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs Janet Kataha Museveni, and Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) are set to release the results for the 2019 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) tomorrow.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Mr Patrick Muinda, confirmed the developing and added that UNEB has already briefed the First Lady about the performance of the candidates.
“Usually before exams are released, UNEB has to brief the Minister on how candidates have performed before the official release. This was done and the ministry is now ready to release the exams to the public,” he said.
Mr Muinda said results will be released on Thursday at 11am by the minister at the office of the President.
In a closed-door meeting held at State House, Nakasero in Kampala, on Tuesday February 25, 2020, UNEB Executive Secretary Dan Odongo together with UNEB chairperson Prof Mary Okwakol briefed the ministry officials including First Lady on the performance of students.
The meeting whose details remained private to the media was also attended by Mr. John Chrysestom Muyingo who is the State Minister for Higher Education, Ms. Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde the State Minister for Primary Education.
Others include Mr. Alex Kakooza, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education among other technocrats.
This will be the last batch of national examinations of 2019 to be released. The Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) and Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) were released last month.
A total of 104,000 students were registered to sit for the 2019 examinations from 1,900 centres.
