StarTimes has launched a new season of its documentary series, A Glimpse Of China In The New Era, offering viewers an immersive exploration of China’s culture, traditions, and landscapes through the eyes of foreigners living in the country.

The series, which airs from September through October on ST Zone, ST Novela E, and the StarTimes ON streaming app, seeks to promote deeper mutual understanding and strengthen cultural ties between Africa, China, and the wider global community.

The documentary follows African and international individuals, including artists, entrepreneurs, and nature enthusiasts who share their experiences of life, work, and discovery in modern-day China.

Through their narratives, viewers are taken on a visual journey across the nation, from the serene charm of Taizhou and the vibrant pulse of Chongqing to the timeless beauty of Chongzhou, the coastal traditions of Fujian, the ancient sands of Dunhuang, and the spiritual majesty of Wudang Mountain.

By focusing beyond China’s major cities, A Glimpse of China in the New Era captures the country’s cultural diversity and evolving lifestyles, highlighting how foreigners have found both inspiration and opportunity within its rapid transformation.

“Our audience will not only witness inspiring cross-cultural stories but also gain a deeper insight into China’s diverse cultural landscape through the fresh and relatable perspectives of foreigners living there,” said Aldrine Nsubuga, Vice President of StarTimes Uganda.

“The series is both an educational journey and a visually stunning experience, opening new doors for cultural dialogue between Africa and China,” he added.

Beyond the screen, StarTimes has also supported a series of offline events inspired by the documentary. These engagements aim to foster cultural appreciation and dialogue, extending the spirit of the series into real-world interactions.

With its rich cinematography and heartfelt storytelling, A Glimpse of China in the New Era stands as a celebration of shared values — curiosity, collaboration, and friendship — that continue to unite people across continents.
