The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has released the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examination results, enabling candidates, schools, and institutions to access them through multiple channels.

According to UNEB Executive Director Daniel Odongo, a total of 166,402 candidates sat the UACE examinations in 2025, marking the third and final series of national assessments in the academic calendar.

The 2025 candidature represents a 14.6% increase compared to the 141,996 candidates who sat the examinations the previous year. Of the total number, 42,328 candidates (25%) were government-sponsored under the Universal Post-O-Level Education and Training (UPOLET) programme, while 124,074 candidates (75%) were privately sponsored.

Accessing UACE Results via School Portals

Schools can access the results immediately through the UNEB online portal. Headteachers and examination centre administrators are required to log in using their assigned credentials to download and print results for their candidates.

    Accessing UACE Results via SMS

Candidates and guardians can check the results using the UNEB SMS service by following these steps:

    • Open the messaging app on your mobile phone.
    • Type UACE, followed by a space and the candidate’s full index number (for example: UACE 123456/001).
    • Send the message to 6600.

The results will be sent instantly via SMS.

The service is available on MTN and Airtel networks and is subject to standard SMS charges.

Hard Copy Results and Certificate Distribution

While digital access is immediate, hard copies of the results will be sent to schools at a later date. UNEB will communicate the specific dates for collection.

Certificates will be printed after all necessary reviews and corrections have been completed. Schools and individual candidates will be informed once the certificates are ready for collection.

    Submission of Queries and Amendments

Candidates and school administrators are advised to carefully review the released results and submit any queries or requests for amendments within 21 working days from the date of release.

All requests should be submitted electronically through the UNEB portal to facilitate faster processing and the timely issuance of certificates.
