UPC Fires Up Dokolo In Mobilization Campaign For Woman MP Seat

The Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) Party flag bearer for Dokolo District Woman Member of Parliament by-election Sarah Aguti Nyangkori was duly nominated as a candidate on Monday 11 March 2024 by the District Electoral Commission registrar Mr. Erikwaine Ngobi in Dokolo Town Council.

Aguti went through went through the nomination exercise smoothly in the company of the Party President Hon. Jimmy Akena, Secretary General Hon. Fred Ebil, UPC parliamentary Whip and
Oyam District Woman MP Hon. Santa Alum, Maruzi North MP Hon. Nelson Okello Lemba, Kwania District Woman MP Hon. Auma Kenny, Alebtong LCV Chairman Odongo David Kenneth, Amolatar LCV Chairman Geoffrey Ocen, Regional vice Chairperson of Lango and the entire leadership.

While addressing the press, UPC’s head of communication Faizo Muzeyi applauded the solidarity, comradeship, love and support exhibited that the people of Dokolo have given candidate Sarah Aguti Nyongkori.
“Our campaign machine led by the Party President Hon. Jimmy Akena
is expected to officially start campaigns in the Amwoma and Dokolo sub-counties
after the harmonization of the candidates’ campaign program by the Independent electoral Commission. UPC is indeed on the ground mobilizing for the support of the Party candidate as affirmed earlier by the President”, he said.

UPC has appealed to the electorate and all the people of Dokolo District to rally their support behind the UPC Candidate whose central message is anchored on addressing their welfare thus transforming both their lives and communities. This puts Sarah Aguti Nyangkori in a better position to represent and deliver the necessary service to the people of Dokolo.

“To our campaign team and all UPC members, let us continue with that
solidarity, sacrifice, organisation and comradeship spirit exhibited so far. We
encourage you to be more committed and hardworking than ever before”, Muzeyi stated.

Drawing from the lessons of the Oyam North by-election last year has
reiterated the Party President Hon. Jimmy Akena’s message that UPC is not going to accept any plans of vote rigging. The Party is going to be on the ground until the last vote is cast, counted and declared.

UPC wants the voice of the people of Dokolo to be heard without any interference.

The party therefore calls upon all stakeholders in the Dokolo by-election to play their part accordingly and ensure fair, free and peaceful elections.
