Rubis Energy Uganda in partnership with Castrol has today announced its sponsorship of CRS Racing, the accomplished Kenyan rally champions led by brothers Jasmeet Chana and Ravi Chana, ahead of the 2026 Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally currently underway in Mbarara. The announcement, made at the RUBiS Kakoba Service Station in Mbarara, signals a strategic expansion of RUBiS’ motorsport footprint in the region, building on the team’s recent high-impact performances on the global stage.

CRS Racing arrives in Uganda with strong momentum, having recently delivered a standout showing at the WRC Safari Rally, where the Chana brothers secured a Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) category win despite challenging conditions. Known for their resilience and technical precision, the duo, driving a Ford Fiesta Rally2 are now set to compete in one of Africa’s most demanding rally events, which doubles as a round of both the FIA African Rally Championship (ARC) and the Uganda National Rally Championship (NRC).

The Pearl of Africa Rally, renowned for its punishing red-soil terrain and unpredictable weather conditions across the districts of Mbarara and Kiruhura, provides an ideal proving ground for both machine and driver. With a record entry of 65 crews, the 2026 edition is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent history, featuring top regional contenders and seasoned ARC campaigners.

Rubis Energy Uganda’s sponsorship highlights its commitment to aligning with high-performance platforms that reflect the brand’s core values of endurance, reliability, and excellence under pressure. The partnership extends the support already established by Rubis Energy Kenya and Castrol, reinforcing a unified regional approach to motorsport engagement while elevating brand visibility within Uganda’s rapidly growing rally audience.

Speaking at the announcement, RUBiS Energy Uganda Managing Director, Mr. William Fillet emphasized the strategic significance of the partnership, “Motorsport is the ultimate test of performance, precision, and resilience, qualities that define both CRS Racing and the RUBiS brandalong with the high-performance Castrol Lubricants. Our support for Jasmeet and Ravi Chana is not only a celebration of their proven track record but also a reflection of our commitment to powering champions across every terrain. As they take on the Pearl of Africa Rally, we are proud to stand behind a team that embodies excellence and determination at the highest level.”

The sponsorship also strengthens the emotional and experiential connection between the RUBiS and Castrol brands and motorsport fans in Uganda, leveraging the excitement of rally competition to deepen engagement with consumers. By associating with a team that consistently delivers under extreme conditions, Rubis positions itself as a premium, performance-driven fuel partner capable of meeting the demands of both everyday drivers and elite competitors.

As the rally unfolds from May 7 to May 10, all eyes will be on CRS Racing as they navigate the technical stages of the Ankole region, including fan-favorite routes such as Kaguta and Ankole Cow. With strong regional backing and renewed focus, the Chana brothers are not only aiming for podium success but also reinforcing their credentials as serious contenders in the African rally circuit.

RUBiS Energy Uganda’s involvement is part of its ongoing efforts to champion excellence in motorsport while driving brand relevance in key markets. Through this partnership, the company continues to fuel ambition, performance, and the relentless pursuit of victory.
