There was shock and confusion in Kawanda-Watindo after reports emerged that embattled city lawyer Jordan Ssebuliba Kiwanuka allegedly repossessed a house he had earlier given to his lawyer from BKA Advocates as part payment for legal services.

According to sources close to the matter, the disputed property originally belonged to Kiwanuka’s mother Beatrice Luyiga Kavuma and was reportedly handed over to his legal representative as part of the settlement for outstanding legal fees accrued from multiple court cases. Ssebuliba has for years been involved in several property-related disputes currently before different courts.

It is alleged that after transferring the house to the lawyer, Ssebuliba later used fraudulent means to reclaim ownership of the property without following the required legal procedures. The property, located in Kawanda-Watindo, has since become the center of fresh controversy, with claims that the repossession was carried out under questionable circumstances.

Sources indicate that the lawyer had accepted the house in good faith as compensation for legal representation in Ssebuliba’s ongoing property wrangles. However, the situation reportedly changed when Ssebuliba allegedly initiated processes to reverse the arrangement and take back possession of the house.

The developments have raised serious concerns among legal observers, with some questioning whether proper documentation was initially executed and whether the repossession followed lawful channels.

Residents in Kawanda-Watindo have expressed surprise at the unfolding saga, noting that the property had for some time been understood to be under the control of the lawyer.

Efforts to obtain a comment from Ssebuliba were unsuccessful by press time. BKA Advocates had also not officially responded to the allegations.
The matter is expected to attract legal scrutiny as investigators and court officials seek to establish the authenticity of ownership documents and determine whether any fraudulent activity was involved in the repossession of the house.
The latest dispute adds to Ssebuliba’s growing list of court battles related to contested properties.

Originally the legal battles between members of the Kiwanuka family over the vast estate are ongoing, regarding the management of properties
In the beginning, Jordan Kiwanuka, son of the respected entrepreneur Mohan Musisi Kiwanuka, sought a court order for mental evaluation of his father, alleging that the elder Kiwanuka, suffering from Alzheimer’s disease/ dementia, was no longer mentally fit to manage his personal or business affairs.
