The 35 contestants competing for the Miss Tourism Uganda 2026 crown have been unveiled to the public, marking the official start of the final preparations for this year’s pageant. The contestants will head to the bootcamp at the Wild Life recreation centre.

The organisers also introduced nine male contestants who will compete for the Man of Tourism Uganda title.

The contestants were presented to the public on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Kampala Serena Hotel during a colourful event attended by fans, supporters and members of the tourism and entertainment industry.

The atmosphere was lively as the finalists took turns walking onto the runway in cultural attire showcasing the traditions and heritage of the different regions and tribes they represent.

Each contestant received loud cheers and applause from the audience as they made their introductions.

Miss Tourism Uganda Public Relations Officer Saina Musasizi appreciated the public for coming out to support the contestants and the pageant.

“We would like to thank you all for coming out to support and showing love for our contestants tonight,” Musasizi said.

The 35 finalists were selected from various parts of Uganda and will now enter a boot camp where they will undergo preparations ahead of the grand finale.

The Miss Tourism Uganda 2026 finale will take place on September 4 at Kampala Serena Hotel under the theme “AI, Culture and Tourism.”

According to the organisers, this year’s theme seeks to explore how artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies can be used to promote Uganda’s cultural heritage, tourism and conservation efforts.

The organisers believe technology can provide new and creative ways of sharing Uganda’s cultural stories with audiences beyond the country, while preserving the traditions that define its identity.

Apart from winning the Miss Tourism Uganda title, the eventual queen will receive a fully furnished rented house in Bwebajja along Entebbe Road for the duration of her reign.

The competition now moves into the boot camp stage, with the finalists expected to compete in a series of activities before one of them is crowned the new Miss Tourism Uganda.
