Jambojet has resumed daily flights between Nairobi and Entebbe, Uganda after a six-year break.

In a statement on Thursday, October 1, Jambojet said the return of the daily flights marks a new chapter for the carrier and another connection between Kenya and Uganda.

“Your direct, hassle-free route between Kenya and Uganda is officially open. Whether you are flying for business, a family creating unforgettable memories across the border, or a lifestyle traveler stepping out for a well-deserved getaway.

“Whatever your reason to fly, Jambojet is now your daily direct bridge connecting Kenya and Uganda,” Jambojet stated.

According to the airline, the Nairobi-Entebbe flight will depart Nairobi at 9:30 AM and arrive in Entebbe at 11:00 AM. The return flight will depart Entebbe at 11:40 a.m. and arrive in Nairobi at 1:30 PM.

Jambojet also said the one-way fare from Nairobi to Entebbe will start from $170 (Ksh 22,950).

The airline will also introduce cargo and parcel operations on the route, boosting trade between Kenya and Uganda.

Speaking on August 27, Jambojet CEO Karanja Ndegwa said the resumption of daily flights between Kenya and Uganda reflects the airline’s broader ambition to make air travel more accessible while strengthening regional integration.

“Our return to Uganda is a strategic step forward in our mission to strengthen regional connectivity. We see significant opportunities to support business, tourism and trade between Kenya and Uganda while providing travelers with an affordable, reliable and convenient flying experience that Jambojet is known for,” said Ndegwa.

Jambojet first entered the Ugandan market in 2018 as part of its regional expansion strategy.

However, the airline suspended flights in June 2020 following the Covid 19 pandemic, which resulted in a decline in demand, prompting it to focus on the Kenyan market.

Jambojet’s return to the Entebbe route comes months after the airline expanded its active fleet to 11 aircraft.
