ROKO Construction Limited has been recognised for its commitment to quality and excellence, receiving the prestigious Platinum Award for Quality Excellence at the East African Brand Quality Awards 2025/2026.
The award recognises ROKO as one of East Africa’s leading construction companies, celebrating its commitment to quality workmanship, engineering excellence, innovation and sustainable construction practices.
The award ceremony was held at Hotel Africana in Kampala under the theme “Global Visionaries of Quality: Pioneering Sustainable Innovations, Advancing Technology and Value Addition.” Uganda’s Vice President, H.E. Jessica Alupo, was the guest of honour.
Organised by Consumer Choice Awards Africa, Investors Hub and iNet, the awards recognise outstanding brands across nine countries in East and Southern Africa. This year, more than 250 brands were recognised from 370 nominees across 230 categories.
The awards programme evaluates nominated brands against criteria including quality, reliability and consumer trust, with the UK-based Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) reportedly participating in the selection process.
Recognition of a Commitment to Excellence
Commenting on the recognition, ROKO Construction Limited Chairman Mark Koehler said the Platinum Award reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to quality, innovation and excellence in construction.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our workforce and our continued commitment to delivering high-quality construction projects. For more than five decades, ROKO has contributed to Uganda’s development through engineering expertise, skilled craftsmanship and reliable project delivery,” Koehler said.
He expressed his appreciation to ROKO’s more than 1,850 employees, as well as its clients, partners and stakeholders, for their continued trust and support.
“Our success is built on the hard work of our people and the confidence our clients place in us. We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety while contributing to Uganda’s long-term development,” he added.
A Proven Track Record in Uganda
The award follows recent recognition of ROKO’s contribution to Uganda’s construction industry by the Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Henry Musasizi.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Uganda Bureau of Statistics Entebbe Office Block, the Minister praised ROKO’s proven experience and reliability, describing it as Uganda’s best local construction company.
He highlighted the company’s extensive experience in delivering major construction projects and its consistent record of meeting the country’s infrastructure needs.
ROKO recently completed the new headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development in Kampala, further strengthening its portfolio of major public infrastructure projects.
