Renowned Ugandan artist Mansur Ssemanda, popularly known as King Saha, has faced an unexpected setback as his much-anticipated concert, scheduled for Friday, January 24th, has been postponed. The Uganda Police cited concerns over the structural integrity of the venue, Lugogo Cricket Oval, as the reason for the decision.

According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson Mr. Kituuma Rusoke, joint security teams and technical experts identified potential risks at the venue that could pose a danger to public safety. “The event has been put on hold to allow necessary improvements to the facility. This decision was made to prioritize the safety of the attendees,” the statement read.

King Saha, who has been promoting the event for months, assured fans that the concert would still take place. Using his social media platforms, he urged supporters to show up early, announcing that gates would open at 9:00 AM on the rescheduled date, which he promised to confirm soon.

Fans are now eagerly awaiting updates, hoping for swift resolution of the venue’s issues so they can celebrate the star’s music without worry.

Some of his fans have criticised police for blocking the show terming as a political witch-hunt as King Saha supports opposition leader Bobiwine and his National Unity Platform (NUP) party.
