The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has designated Colonel Chris Magezi as the Acting Defence Public Information Officer (DDPIO) for a temporary period. His appointment, made by Major General Jack Bakasumba, follows the leave of Major General Felix Kulayigye, who is expected to resume duties after 30 days.

In an official communication, the UPDF confirmed the decision, stating that Col. Magezi will oversee the office’s operations during this period. The statement also noted that he serves as the Military Assistant to the Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The UPDF assured the public and media that the transition will be smooth, and all operations will continue without disruption. Maj. Gen. Kulayigye is expected to return to his role once his leave period concludes.
