Am In Final Stages Of Uprooting Dictator M7 From Power -Dr.Besigye

Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] Party on Monday marked 15 years Anniversary at Mandela National Stadium – Namboole at a colourful event that brought together Ugandans from all walks of life under the theme “Struggle for Freedom: The Final Phase”.

On 16th December 2004, there was a merger of 3 Political forces; Reform Agenda headed by Dr. Kizza Besigye, Parliamentary Advocacy Forum (PAFO) headed by Hon. Augustine Ruzindana and National Democratic Forum headed by Chaapa Karuhanga at Bonita Hotel, Entebbe. This historical event led to the birth of Forum for Democratìc Change (FDC).

The formation of Forum for Democratìc Change brought in a new political culture that has shaped the general body politic of the Country in the last 15 years.

Hon. Proscovia Salaamu Musumba gave a recount of the processes and tribulations that preceded the formation of the Party.

She did a stock taking of the various personalities (living and departed) that immensely contributed to the formation of the party.

The Kampala Lord Mayor Hon. Erias Lukwago delivered a keynote address detailing the historical struggles for the rebirth of Multi-Party Political dispensation in Uganda.

Other dignitaries who addressed the historical Anniversary include The Leader of Minority in Parliament Hon. Betty Aol Ocan, Party Chairman Amb. Wasswa Biriggwa, Conservative Party President Hon. John Kenny Lukyamuzi “The man”, Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) Deputy National Coordinator Dr. Nyanja Musoke, and Members of Parliament.

The Third (3rd) and current Party President Hon. Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA) thanked all Ugandans for trekking the liberation journey with FDC at the forefront of the democratization process.

He reminded Ugandans that the constant efforts they have invested in, the Consistency and resilience over the years is what has weakened the NRM junta and put it to its knees.

He implored all people to continue loving and working for FDC Party with the spirit of building a Uganda that works for all (One Uganda One People).

The founding Party President Dr. Kizza Besigye thanked all Ugandans for the resounding support and resilience they have accorded the struggle over the years.

He noted that Ugandans from across the board, young or old, rich and poor are badly yearning for change and have high hopes in the FDC.

Dr. Besigye reminded all Ugandans that in life “you only get what you fight for and since we are in the final phase of action in the struggle, everybody’s contribution is important”.

He said no matter what happens, President Museveni’s government will fall and change will come to Uganda.edge
