Assailants Kill Three UPDF Soldiers,Torch Huts In Zombo

Three Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) soldiers have been killed after unknown people attacked a UPDF detach in Zombo town council.

According to sources, a group of over 100 civilians armed with machetes, hoes, bows and arrows on Thursday night stormed Oduk UPDF detach located one kilometre away from Zombo town council offices and set ablaze grass-thatched houses at the detach.

UPDF spokesperson Brigadier Richard Kareimire said that in the exchange, an unspecified number of attackers were also gunned down. He says that security forces working with the local leaders and wanainchi are currently hunting for the attackers.”We are trying to get information on who could they be and what could have been the motive of their attack”he said. u.r.n
