Col. Amon Kagina, the Commandant of the Military School, has once again distinguished himself after emerging as the best overall student at the National Defence College (NDC) course in China.
Col. Kagina, known among his colleagues as a highly disciplined and no-nonsense officer, reportedly excelled throughout the demanding course, emerging at the top of his class.
The achievement has been received as a major boost to Uganda’s military training and professional development, with Col. Kagina adding another milestone to his distinguished service in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
Sources familiar with his career describe him as a strict disciplinarian and a hardworking officer who takes his responsibilities seriously. His reputation for professionalism, commitment and adherence to military standards has earned him respect throughout his service.
Col. Kagina previously served with the Presidential Protection Unit (PPU), an elite security unit that later evolved into the Special Forces Command (SFC).
During his service in the country’s elite forces, he was known for his firm approach to duty and insistence on discipline.
His performance in China is being viewed as a reflection of the quality and professionalism of UPDF officers deployed for advanced military and strategic training abroad.
