Exposed! Ugandan MPs Secretly Shared Shs 10Bn COVID-19 Cash Bonanza

The Parliament of Uganda recently allocated Shs 10bn, from the COVID-19 supplementary budget, to facilitate Members of Parliament in the committees, discreetly.

It is alleged that Members of Parliament secretly chopped off a percentage of the supplementary budget money meant for Ministry Of Health towards coronavirus to themselves to facilitate committees established by Parliament to join national activities in the fight against the pandemic.

Close and reputable sources have revealed to us that the Parliamentarians have deducted UGX 5 billion from the additional 104Bn supplementary allocation meant for Ministry of Health. We are yet to discover the source of the other 5billion.

Hellen Kaweesa the spokesperson of Parliament has confirmed to us the allegation that 10bn has been set aside to facilitate Parliament COVID-19 task force.

However, the direct role of Parliament towards fighting against Corona virus still remains unclear.

Defending the decision to allocate 10bn to MPs, the Speaker of Parliament said on Wednesday that the money will be used for community sensitization.

Kadaga speaking during a morning TV show on NBS revealed that each Member of Parliament would get 20 Million to support their constituencies in sensitization.

Kadaga revealed that MPs who have ambulances will be fueled, serviced and their drivers facilitated.
