Former BoU Deputy Governor Robert Elangot Reportedly Dead

The former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Uganda John Robert Elangot has died, according to reports.

According to reports, Mzee John Robert Elangot passed on in the wee hours of 6th November 2021 in Kampala where he has been battling multiple organ failure.

As an economist, John Robert Elangot served in various capacities in the 1960s and 1970s rising to become the Governor of the Bank of Uganda.

Before serving in that capacity, John Robert Elangot who is now deceased had also worked as the Deputy Governor.
