Former Presidential Candidate John Katumba Arrested

The latest landing on our desk indicates that Police in Kampala have arrested Former presidential candidate Katumba John for holding an illegal assembly in downtown Kampala City.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango, Katumba was found at Ben Kiwanuka William street junction holding a megaphone speaker calling on people to fight for an improved economy and well-being.

Katumba who is commonly known as Katumba Oyeee, was found by police telling Kampalians that they should know their rights and demand what is good for them so that their lives improve amidst this terrible economic crisis.

By press time we’ve been been informed that Katumba and his brother who had been working as a cameraman are being detained at Central Police Station on charges of being a public nuisance.
