Former U.S. National Security Advisor Flynn Visits Museveni

Retired United States Army Lieutenant General Michael T. Flynn has held a meeting with President  Museveni at State House, Entebbe, during his official visit to Uganda.

Lt. Gen. Flynn, a former Director of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency and former National Security Advisor, is in the country at the invitation of the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba. His visit is focused on discussions around leadership development and military cooperation.

During the meeting, President Museveni and Lt. Gen. Flynn exchanged views on regional security dynamics and underscored the importance of strengthening military-to-military relations between Uganda and the United States.

Lt. Gen. Flynn expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him by Ugandan authorities.

The meeting was also attended by Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Uganda’s Ambassador to the United States,  Robie Kakonge.

As part of his visit, Lt. Gen. Flynn held a private meeting with the Chief of Defence Forces and was hosted to a dinner in his honor at Serena Hotel, Kigo.

He also delivered a lecture to senior Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) officers at Speke Resort Munyonyo, where he emphasized that effective leadership is rooted in character, courage, and strategic vision.

Gen. Muhoozi described the visit as the beginning of a significant and mutually beneficial relationship between Uganda and Lt. Gen. Flynn.
