GoldStar Insurance Company Limited has reached a significant milestone, celebrating 30 years of operations while securing another affirmation of its AA(UG) national-scale financial strength rating from GCR Ratings. The rating, accompanied by a stable outlook, reinforces the insurer’s position among Uganda’s strongest and most reliable general insurance providers.

The latest assessment reflects GoldStar’s solid financial foundation, strong liquidity position, and ability to generate sustainable earnings. According to the rating review, the company continues to maintain capital levels well above regulatory requirements, demonstrating its capacity to meet obligations to policyholders and withstand market uncertainties.

Over the past year, GoldStar recorded notable growth across several business segments. Increased demand for engineering, transport, and commercial insurance products contributed to a significant rise in insurance revenue, strengthening the company’s market presence within Uganda’s competitive insurance sector.

Industry observers point to the insurer’s disciplined underwriting practices and prudent risk management as key factors behind its continued success.

The company has also enhanced its corporate governance framework through board restructuring and strengthened oversight mechanisms aimed at promoting transparency and accountability.

The rating affirmation coincides with GoldStar’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, themed “30 Years. One Promise.” The campaign highlights the company’s long-standing commitment to providing dependable insurance solutions while maintaining the financial strength necessary to honor claims promptly and fairly.

Speaking on the achievement, company officials described the renewed rating as an independent validation of GoldStar’s operational stability, governance standards, and commitment to policyholders.

They emphasized that maintaining customer trust remains central to the insurer’s long-term strategy.
Since its establishment three decades ago, GoldStar has evolved from a growing local insurer into a respected player in Uganda’s insurance industry. Its progression through various rating levels over the years reflects consistent improvements in capitalization, governance, and market performance.

Today, the company offers a broad range of insurance products covering motor vehicles, property, engineering projects, transport, and other commercial and personal risks. Its reputation has been built on financial resilience, responsible underwriting, and efficient claims management.

As GoldStar enters its fourth decade, the insurer says it remains focused on innovation, customer service, and sustainable growth while adapting to the evolving needs of Uganda’s economy and insurance market.

The renewed AA(UG) rating not only celebrates past achievements but also signals confidence in the company’s ability to continue delivering value to clients, business partners, and stakeholders in the years ahead.
