The winds of Kawempe did little to cool the temperatures inside Happy Boyz this past Sunday. In the spirit of celebrating authentic Ugandan experiences, Uganda Waragi turned up at the iconic Tula Road hangout for an evening that perfectly blended the beautiful game, good music, and great vibes.

Party people flooded the venue despite the evening breeze and drizzles, ready for a unique Sunday wind-down. The evening started easy and familiar with card and board games that quickly broke the ice, setting the mood for the football showdown between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Marketing Manager for Uganda Waragi, Edgar Kihumuro, who was right in the middle of the action, captured it perfectlysaying,

“At Uganda Waragi, we believe the best stories are written in the moments we share. Seeing the passion for the game, the love for our music, and the people come together, is the essence of what the ‘So UG So 60’ campaign is all about. As we celebrate 60 years, we are honoring these authentic spaces where Ugandans truly feel at home and today, we are very happy at Happy Boyz.”

After Arsenal sealed their victory, the famously noisy fanskicked the party into next gear. Mini-dancefloors formed between tables, high-fives flew everywhere, and the party level shot straight up with shots and bottles in quick circulation.

DJ Edu and DJ Ricky interchanged sets all night, keeping the energy locked in. Then Mavoko Band took the stage, delivering live fire with their set of popular covers before opening the floor to requests, turning the crowd into one big, singing family.

Adding to the flavor of the night, comedy duo Merry Hearts Tumbeetu stepped up to prove that a true Ugandan party requires as much laughter as it does rhythm. Their banter, roasts and observations left the crowd wiping tears of joy.

The DJs closed the evening with the kind of music that makes you wish the night would never end. And while this party ended, the celebrations are far from over. Uganda Waragicontinues its journey through the city and will be wrapping up this week at Bada Bing in Kiira on Saturday in the spirit of Ugandan celebrations.
