Horrible: 7 Mubende Children Killed In Tent Fire

Police in Mubende have commenced the investigations into the death of seven children in Rwenkabi village Kitenga Sub county Mubende district.

According to Wamala region police spokesperson Rachael Kawala revealed that unfortunate incident happened on Monday evening when the deceased children  took shelter in a tent which had a burning charcoal stove. Later on,fire engulfed the whole tent which left all the occupatants dead by suffocation.

”by the time,the children camped in the tent,the owner had one Muhammed who had erected it on a piece of land for cultivation had just gone away”she said.

Local residents who dashed the seen tried to rescue the children but in vain. Police reached at the scene when seven children had already died.

One child was rescued from the fire and is currently being treated at Mubende Hospital.

The dead bodies were taken to Mubende main hospital for postmortem as investigations are going on.
