Rtd Dr Col. Kizza Besigye’s union to Winnie Byaniyma at a very ripe age blessed with one child, Anselm Besigye, who from appearance, association and confession does not seem to appreciate that he was born male.

According to his social media posts, Anselm dons dresses, skirts, styles hair like women, which he states depict his sex selection and orientation. A look at Besigye’s one son who is most likely to marry  a fellow man, leaves one with questions like, what will become of  the political activist’s hereditary line if his son continues on this path.

In the African culture, a man’s lineage is carried on by his children then his grandchildren and so on and so forth.

According to African cultural practices, Besigye’s name will be no more as he will likely not have biological grandchildren to push his name forward.

“Since his son will get married and take on someone else’s last name, because he takes on the role of a woman, Besigye’s lineage will unfortunately end with Anslem. And that’s such a shame,”an African studies scholar said.

In the 9th Parliament,Besigye opposed the re-introduction of the anti- homosexuality bill by MP David Bahati. It is common knowledge that Besigye supports the gays because they funded his campaigns and might be the reason why his son might have turned out to be one.

However, some people on twitter argue that Anslem would have turned out different had his father been more involved in his life instead of abandoning him in the United States with sexual perverts.

Recently, Winnie posted a picture with her son dressed in women clothes which garnered a lot of negative reactions from people on Twitter.

The Besigye’s may profess that they are ok with the way their child turned out, but reality is their hereditary line is on the verge of extinction and this has left  many supporters with a bitter taste in their mouths. (explorer).
