A look at Besigye’s one son who is most likely to marry  a fellow man, leaves one with questions like, what will become of  the political activist’s hereditary line if his son continues on this path. 

In the African culture, a man’s lineage is carried on by his children then his grandchildren and so on and so forth.

According to African cultural practices, Besigye’s name will be no more as he will likely not have biological grandchildren to push his name forward. 

“Since his son will get married and take on someone else’s last name, because he takes on the role of a woman, Besigye’s lineage will unfortunately end with Anslem. And that’s such a shame,”an African studies scholar said.
