Jubilant Nansambu Sandra Wins POA Star Search, Scoops UGX60m Cash Prize At Sumptuous Speke Resort Munyonyo

Sandra Nansambu has been crowned the winner of the Pearl of Africa (POA) Star Search competition walking away with UGX 60 million grand cash prize.

Nansambu,19, was announced the winner at the grand finale of the competition’s first edition on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

She also becomes the new tourism ambassador of Uganda.

The top six finalists in the POA star Search included; Yesu Anjagala Carsteen (POA25), Agami Tonny (POA03), Nansambu Sandra (POA06), Bruce Dickson (POA12), Balunya Ibrahim (POA08), and Mirembe Tracy (POA15)

The function held at the Victoria Ball Room Hall at Speke Resort Munyonyo was attended by Uganda Tourism Board CEO, Ms. Lilly Ajarova, Tourism Minister, Mr. Tom Butime, and former minister Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi among others.

The Pearl of Africa Star Search is powered by The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Uganda Tourism Board, Uganda Wildlife Authority, MTN Uganda, NBS Television, Radiant, Coca Cola, Uganda Talent Managers Association, Uganda Musicians Association, Graphic Systems, House of Djs, Talent Africa Group and Uganda the Pearl.
