Just In: Deputy IGP Maj Gen Paul Lokech Is Dead

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) Maj. Gen Paul Lokech nicknamed “Lion of Mogadishu” has died, the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces spokesperson Brig Flavia Bwekyaso has confirmed.

“ UPDF with deep sorrow regrets to announce the sudden demise of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Major General Paul Lokech,” she announced on Twitter.

The death of Lokech was also announced by Inspector General of Police Martin Okoth Ochola through the Uganda Police Twitter account.

It is reported that Lokech passed on from his home on the wee hours of Saturday morning.

The cause of his untimely death is suspected to be blood clot he got from his residence. It is reported that he fell off a plastic chair a few weeks ago from his homeand did not seek medical attention quickly.

The intimate sources said he had been working from home.
