The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party offices in Kabale have been torched by unknown arsonists. The office located in Kisoro Taxi Park commonly known as Esso along Kabale road was set on fire last night.

According to one of the workers who preferred anonymity, the arsonist poured petrol through the front window where the fire started before it spread to the ceiling. The fire destroyed several documents which included party cards, posters of party leaders and curtains.

Police took away some of the burnt documents as exhibits to Kabale police station. Efforts by a police sniffer dog to track the suspects did not yield success. Brian Ampeire, Kabale district police commander says that they are carrying out investigations to establish the exact cause of the fire.
