Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Thursday welcomed Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, at Kigali International Airport before hosting him at his farm in Kibugabuga for a one-on-one meeting, according to Rwandan authorities.

The Qatari leader was received with full honours upon his arrival at Kigali’s international airport.

Kagame then invited his guest to his farm in Kibugabuga, where the two heads of state held private talks, Kigali reported.

The Emir’s official visit underscores the deepening bilateral ties between Rwanda and Qatar.
