Kibale Man Murders Girlfriend For Giving Him AIDS

Police in Kibaale district western Uganda is investigating circumstances under which a man strangled his girlfriend for infecting him with HIV/AIDS.

The man only identified as Paul, 27, murdered Sifa Naziwa, 29, on Christmas Eve in Kigoro-Bujogoro village in Kabasekende Sub County in Kibaale District.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police spokesperson, told Daily Monitor Naziwa’s body was found floating in a stagnant pool of water after she was strangled to death.

Paul who has been a casual labourer and a resident of the same area decided commit suicide after allegedly killing his girlfriend.

He was found hanging on a tree with a note in his pocket indicating that his girlfriend infected him with HIV.

The case was registered under reference KB 851/19 as investigations continue.

Last month, a woman in Hoima District allegedly killed her boyfriend when she found him swallowing anti retrial viral drugs (ARVs).

The deceased Tumusiime Emmanuel, 35, was a resident of Kijumba cell in Kigorobya town council in Hoima District.
