Kololo Junior School Director, Matron Arrested Over Mysterious Death Of Pupil

Police in Wakiso District are investigating a suspected suicide involving a 14-year-old pupil at Kololo Junior School in Wakiso Town Council.

The incident occurred on the evening of March 3, 2026, at around 8:00pm at the school located in Kayunga Cell, Gombe Ward.

The deceased has been identified as Kiseka John Terry, a Primary Five pupil at the institution.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Kawala Racheal, preliminary findings indicate that the tragic discovery was made by fellow pupils as they returned to the dormitory from evening prep.

The pupils reportedly found Terry hanging inside the dormitory and quickly alerted the school matron, who then informed the school director. Police were subsequently notified and responded to the scene.Officers found the body suspended from a roofing pole using a red scarf.

The scene was documented and processed by investigators. The body was later conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination to help establish the exact cause of death.Police have since arrested the school director and the matron to assist with ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the suspected suicide.

Authorities say inquiries are ongoing and have urged schools, parents, and guardians to remain vigilant for signs of emotional distress among children.

Police emphasized the importance of open communication and timely intervention, encouraging families and school administrators to seek professional help whenever concerns about a child’s mental well-being arise.
