City lawyer Jordan Ssebuliba Kiwanuka is reportedly facing growing financial and legal difficulties, with sources indicating that his troubles have intensified in recent months.

According to individuals close to the lawyer, Ssebuliba is at risk of eviction from his law chambers, AEGIS Advocates, located at Plot 11 Kent Lane on Kira Road in Kamwokya, over unpaid rent arrears amounting to millions of shillings.

Ms Kavuma Luyiga

he reported financial strain comes amid an ongoing property dispute involving his father, businessman Mohan Kiwanuka, as well as a separate disagreement with lawyers from BKA Advocates over ownership of a residential property in Kawanda.

Sources familiar with the matter allege that the disputed property originally belonged to Ssebuliba’s mother, Ms. Kavuma Luyiga, and was later transferred to a legal representative from BKA Advocates as part payment for legal services rendered in multiple court cases involving Ssebuliba.

For several years, Ssebuliba has been involved in numerous property-related disputes currently before various courts, many of which were reportedly handled by the same legal team.

However, it is alleged that after surrendering the property, Ssebuliba later reclaimed ownership through questionable means and without following the required legal procedures. The property has since become the subject of renewed controversy, with concerns being raised over the legality of the repossession and the authenticity of the ownership documents involved.

Legal observers say the dispute is likely to attract further scrutiny as investigators and court officials seek to establish whether any fraudulent activity occurred during the transfer or repossession process.

In addition to the dispute over the Kawanda property, Ssebuliba is also reportedly facing possible eviction from his rented offices in Kamwokya due to outstanding rent arrears. Sources close to the landlord claim that repeated efforts to recover the debt have yielded little progress, leaving eviction as the most likely course of action.

Before relocating to Kamwokya, Ssebuliba is said to have had offices in Nakasero in a property owned by his father along Akii Bua Road, from which he was reportedly evicted.

Sources further claim that his financial challenges have begun affecting operations at AEGIS Advocates, with some clients allegedly distancing themselves from the firm over concerns about his professional conduct.

Others reportedly became dissatisfied after observing that much of his attention was focused on longstanding court battles involving his father, some dating back to 2019, rather than on their own legal matters.

In a further setback, several partners at AEGIS Advocates are said to have left the firm, citing concerns over transparency and management practices, developments that have reportedly weakened the business even further.
