Majestic: Ambassador Quillino Bamwine Hosts eSwatini Royal Princes In Uganda

The Honorary Consul of Eswatini, formally the Kingdom of Eswatini and Swaziland to Uganda H.E Ambassador Quillino Bamwine recently hosted Eswatini Princes, HRH Prince Sicalo Diamini and HEH Prince Bandzile Diamin in Kampala, Uganda.

The Royal Princes who are sons to Eswatini’s King Mswati III were in the country upon the invitation to attend the Royal Wedding of Isabantu William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV the Gabula of Bugabula the reigning Kyabazinga of Busoga to Jovia Mutesi at Christ’s Cathedral in Bugembe and Igenge Palace.

Later on Monday 20th November, His Majesty the Kyabazinga welcomed the visitors to his private home in Buziga Kampala and thanked them for accepting the invitation that evening on a short notice.

He thereby introduced the Queen to the visitors and expressed his appreciation to the King of Eswatini for a positive response to the invitation and also noted that he sent through a very able team. He noted that this visit should kick start a whole new chapter of collaboration between the Busoga Kingdom and Eswatini kingdom.

Khadumbulaba Wilberforce Nadiope the IV was in agreement to the proposal of establishing exchange programs between the two monarchs. He was also open to an idea of visiting Eswatini in the future to further the discussions and build the relations.

He appreciated the governance and also the drive towards promoting Africanism including changing the country’s name from Swaziland to Eswatini. He later invited them dinner after which he presented them with gifts of both the king and the queen of Busoga Kingdom.

The Princes of Eswatini thanked the King for the invitations both for the wedding and the private visit at his private home. They relayed the King’s appreciation for the invitation and in turn promised to payback the favor. They noted that Uganda is such a beautiful country and Jinja in particular. They were also in agreement of the proposal of progressing the relationship between the two kingdoms an initiative to be driven by H.E Ambassador Quillino Bamwine.

The meeting took place at the Kyabazinga’s private home at Bunga-Kampala. The Eswatini Delegation was led by H.E Bamwine the Consulate of Swaziland to Uganda.

Earlier in the day, the delegation led by His Excellency Bamwine met Chairman MK Movement and Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Gen. Kainerugaba expressed profound appreciation for the opportunity to meet the monarch who graciously welcomed him to his palace.

“Very honored to have met His Majesty King Mswati III of Eswatini recently. He is an exceptional monarch. Uganda and Eswatini relations are robust,” Gen. Kainerugaba shared on Twitter following the meeting with King Mswati.

The two countries have upheld strong diplomatic ties, notably underscored by King Mswati’s appointment of an honorary consul in Uganda in 2020.

During the meeting, the General engaged in discussions of various matters pertinent to Uganda and Eswatini with the visiting princes.

HRH Prince Sicalo Dlamini, who also serves as the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Defence of Eswatini, and his delegation were also present at the wedding of His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, the Kyabazinga of Busoga.

The Princes lauded Ambassador Quillino Bamwine for driving business forward between Uganda and eSwatini Kingdom.
