Doreen Katusiime, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials attached to Parliament have failed to trace Doreen Katusiime, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, prompting the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to issue fresh summons.

According to the chairperson of the PAC, Muwanga Kivumbi, they had issued summons of arrest for the PS for snubbing meetings, however, she did not show face.

However, Kivumbi has said that the CID officials are having difficulty tracing the Permanent Secretary, saying that the time set for the meeting has elapsed.

“We want to extend the same summons to Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 3 PM,” Kivumbi said.

Katusiime is accused of snubbing PAC meetings to answer accountability queries concerning Ministry of Tourism spending, noting that it has become her habit to send her juniors to respond to the questions raised by the PAC members.nexus
