The head of the Kyambogo based Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Namyalo Hadijah Uzeiye has revealed that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is aware of the demands by his Bazzukulu (Grand Children) to have an interaction with him but they need to wait until the health situation in the country normalizes.

Namyalo who also doubles as the National Coordinator of the Bazukulu movement and a Senior presidential Advisor in charge of political affairs made the revelation on Friday, Deceber 09, 2022 at Nakivubo Blue Primary School as she launched the NRM National Mobile Taskforce in Kampala Central Division.

The taskforce brings together mobilization groups and associations including Veterans (Jenga Taifa), The Elderly, The Ghetto Youths, Nsenene Traders, Bus Guides, Vendors, Saloon Operators, Taxi drivers, BodaBoda Riders, Hawkers, Boxers among others.

She cautioned the ghetto youths against being used by anti-Museveni groups and asked them not to engage in illegal demonstrations but instead form groups to access government funding.

“I appeal to you not to be used by opportunists who want to use you as stepping stones for them to go and collect funds abroad. Why do you allow others to make you stepping stones?, she asked.

She added that “Museveni wants you to use structures to get money to develop. Let’s be patient and disciplined,”  She cautioned.

Among the group, Bus Guides, Hawkers and Vendors working around Namayiba complained about the rampant arrests by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) law enforcement officers and asked the Office of the National Chairman to intervene.

“Many of our colleagues are languishing in prison yet they have families to look after,” they   said.

Taxi drivers at Usafi also complained that whereas there is a gazetted taxi park, many taxis keep prying their work on the streets hence making those operating in the gazzeted taxi park idle.

Namyalo promised to meet leaders from all the groups and asked them to make formal petitions to the ONC so that guidance on their issues can be sought.
“I commend the groups for airing out their issues and we are going to address them in phases,” she said.

Lwengo district chairperson Ibrahim Kitatta Almalik who also doubles as ONC publicist commended the groups for teaming up to form a unified taskforce which he said will make mobilization easier.
