Police at Kabalagala Division have arrested the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of Epodoi Moses, a 32-year-old security guard attached to Corporate Security Limited, who was found dead on October 29, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kansanga.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, preliminary investigations indicate that Epodoi, who was on duty at the church gate, was attacked and beheaded by a suspect known to some members of the church.

A team of detectives visited and processed the crime scene, where several exhibits were recovered for forensic analysis.

In an intelligence-led operation conducted on October 30, 2025, police arrested the prime suspect, identified as Alimu Caleb, at Ggaba Landing Site. ASP Owoyesigyire revealed that the suspect has confessed to the crime and is currently assisting investigators in locating the missing head of the deceased and the murder weapon.

“The suspect is cooperating with investigators and leading them to the places where he allegedly hid the head and knife used in the murder,” Owoyesigyire said.

The deceased’s body was conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination, while efforts to establish the motive behind the brutal killing continue.

Police have commended the public for the information that led to the arrest and urged continued vigilance and cooperation to enhance community safety.
“We appreciate members of the public who came forward with timely information that helped our officers track down the suspect,” ASP Owoyesigyire added.
