Tough Prof.Kanyeihamba

Police have come out to clarify on the allegations that retired Supreme Court Justice; Prof George William Kanyeihamba has been put under a house arrest by one of his police officers guarding his home in Buziga, a leafy Kampala City suburb.

It has been established that a row erupted when Prof Kanyeihamba asked one of his guards to surrender a gun to him as he was going for a burial of his grandfather. Being a trained police officer, he used to hand over a fire arm to Prof.Kanyeihamba who had asked for it. The two exchanged words until police was called to come in and arrest the situation.

Later on police released a statement expounding the events that happened at former Supreme Court Justice Kanyeihamba’s residence.

“Today, there was a minor incident that happened at Prof. George Kanyehamba’s resident in Buziga, Kampala City. A police guard at the retired Judge’s home lost his father and he requested his principal, who is Prof. Kanyehamba, to allow him go for the burial. Retired Justice Kanyehamba ordered him to hand over the gun to him, whom the guard rejected,

“According to our standing orders, a police officer isn’t allowed to hand over his firearm to unauthorized persons. The retired Justice ordered other workers to lock the gate and not to allow the guard to leave. The police guard called his superiors, who went to the residence and he handed over his gun to them before a new guard was deployed to cover his beat.

The guard has reportedly been given pass leave to go and attend the burial of his father.
The police statement say that it is unfortunate that the retired Justice decided to alarm the public that he is being held hostage well knowing that he is the one who ordered his other workers to lock the gate.’ statement read

This is not the first time the controversial judge is clashing with police, last year while in Wandegeya Prof Kanyeihamba ordered his driver to drive on a wrong lane and later he was arrested.

Prof.Kanyeihamba who was on a hurry,he abused all police officers who had come to guide his driver .
