Senior Police Officer Arrested In Foiled Armed Robbery At Abaitta Babiri

Police in Entebbe have apprehended a senior police one ASP Amutuhaire Bright attached to Kajjansi police station in a foiled robbery along Entebbe road.

According to Deputy Kampala metropolitan spokesperson Luke Oweyesigire revealed that security agencies arrested the officer alongside his accomplice Richard Musinguzi who had put a city businessman one Tom Kisibika on a gun point. ‘Police arrested the suspects because the victim had already informed the security on how the group of bandits was trailing him with the intentions of robbing the money he was carrying in his vehicle from Entebbe to Kampala ‘he said.

While telling his ordeal, Mr. Tom, a resident of Busega a Kampala suburb revealed that on Sunday night at around 9.30pm as he was driving his vehicle no.UBD328J from Entebbe to Kampala, was trailed by motor Vehicle Reg No UAW 714Bat breakneck speed which raised his eyebrows to call authorities .He maneuvered all the way until suspected thugs stopped him at Abaita babiri along Entebbe.

‘’They threatened me that if I had not stopped, they would kill me so I had to surrender but by that time I had already information all security agencies who were on the way to save my life ‘he narrated his ordeal.

Mr. Tom also stressed that suspects developed bad blood with him when he prospered in business and decided to part ways with their shoddy deals.

He also said that officer Bright and his team had robbed him four times and that he reported the matter at Entebbe police station vide SD 62/29/6/2019 adding that yesterday’s robbery was the t fifth. After the arrest, police recovered a khaki uniform and a gun that were used in a foiled robbery. Police also searched Tom’s car and recovered 45m which the suspects wanted to take.
