Shock As Lt.Col Nakalema’s Investigator Dies Mysteriously

The head of State house Anti-corruption unit Lt.Col Edith Nakalema has ordered for a swift investigation into mysterious death of her investigating officer.
Detective AIP David Openy was part of the investigation team for the OPM Covid-19 relief food scandal. He died on Friday afternoon under unclear circumstances at Nsambya Hospital where he had been rushed for medical attention.
While eulogizing his great work, Ms Nakalema revealed that she was shocked by news surrounding his mysterious and untimely death.

“My team and I are mourning one of our most dedicated and trustworthy colleagues D/AIP David Openy. His death has shocked us.

We pray for his family as we seek answers.May His Soul Rest In Peace”Nakalema said.

Madam Nakalema visited the grieving family members of Mr.Openy at Nsambya and assured them a quick investigation into the death of her staff.

Recently,Four top officials from the office prime minister, were charged in courts of law following reports that they had inflated COVID-19 relief food prices.

The defendants worked in the office of Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda and ran a program to provide food relief for the most vulnerable amid the coronavirus pandemic. They were arrested for causing government losses.

While addressing the media, Lt.Col. Edith Nakalema, who headed the investigation said that she received a directive from President Yoweri Museveni to investigate the way the food program distribution.

Government officials arrested include Permanent Secretary Christine Guwatudde Kintu, and accounting officer Joel Wanjala, assistant procurement commissioner Fred Lutimba and Martin Owor, head of COVID-19 relief management, were taken into custody.

Officials in the office of the prime minister are no strangers to corruption and embezzlement of both government and donor funds.

Efforts to speak to police spokesperson Fred Enanga for a comment were futile as he could not pick our calls by press time.
