In a joint security operation targeting rising crime in and around Katwe Division, law enforcement agencies have arrested popular singer Jjingo Shafik, known by his stage name Fik Gaza, along with three accomplices. The suspects were apprehended following intelligence-led investigations into a surge in robbery cases.

The operation, conducted at the residences of Fik Gaza, resulted in the arrest of Jjingo Shafik (Fik Gaza),Magoola Najibu,Mutuba David (alias Mavin Gaza)
and Zziwa Charles (alias Mzungu).

During the raid, security personnel recovered exhibits including machetes (pangas), military uniforms, and suspected narcotics. Authorities revealed that Fik Gaza’s residence was being used as a hideout for some of the city’s most wanted criminals.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango confirmed that one of the suspects, Zziwa Charles, had previously escaped from custody while facing a murder charge. His re-arrest adds to the gravity of the case, as security agencies tighten their grip on criminal elements operating in the city.

Onyango revealed that police have prepared sanctioned case files against all four suspects, who are set to appear in court to face multiple charges. The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb rising crime and restore public safety.

As investigations continue, police urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
