Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Anita Among has held a bilateral meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, Mr Alban S. K Bagbin, who commended her positive influence in supporting African values and traditions.

At the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort where the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers (CSPOC2024) will be held, Speaker Bagbin said international collaboration among Parliaments in the world should be based on mutual respect for the different people’s value systems, and not blackmail and intimidation, which he said was worryingly becoming the global trend.

In her remarks, Speaker Anita Among urged African Parliaments and National Assemblies to unite and work in unison to advance the continent.

Recognizing the shared challenges and opportunities that bind African nations, Among highlighted the imperative for Parliaments across the continent to work hand in hand.
