The State House has come out to address the news making rounds alleging the President has reshuffled the RDCs all over the country, just days after a mini cabinet reshuffle and change in army leadership.

Labelling the reports as fake on Saturday evening, the Deputy Press Secretary in the Office of the President, Mr Kirunda Faruk dismissed the claims that the President has reshuffled the RDCs adding that such is fake news and it should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

“The general public is advised to ignore the fake news circulating of a purported reshuffle of RDCs/RCCs and their Deputies. Any reshuffle by His Excellency the President is communicated through official channels,” Kirunda posted on his official X account.

“Please, disregard the fake list intended to excite and cause panic in public,” he emphasized.

The news of the RDCs reshuffle comes just days after a section of former RDCs recently tasked the appointing authority to find them what to do or else re-deploy them as Resident District Commissioners.

Led by former JINJA RDC Erik Sakwa, the group says some of them have run broke and resorted to accusing the appointing authority of using and dumping them.

“I haven’t worked for three years and I need compensation. I was reappointed to Kaliro district and all news outlets painted me as dishonest and when I went to the office for my appointment letter, it was sat on,” said Sakwa while appearing on local TV station on March 12, adding that it would make sense if they received compensation.
