Fear and uncertainty have gripped residents of Namasuba following the alleged abduction of Mukubira Shafiq, a teacher at TOSIA School Ndejje.
Family members say Shafiq was taken from his home on the evening of 22 March 2025 by heavily armed men traveling in a white “drone” vehicle commonly linked to security operations. Since then, his whereabouts remain unknown.
Relatives say efforts to trace him through police stations and security offices have produced no answers, leaving the family in distress.
Neighbors describe Shafiq as a peaceful and hardworking teacher whose disappearance has shocked the community. His family is now demanding that authorities explain where he is or present him before court if he is being held legally.
“The silence surrounding Mukubira Shafiq’s disappearance is deeply worrying. Authorities should come out clearly and tell the public where he is,” chairman LC 1 Namasuba said
Human rights activists have continued to raise concern over increasing reports of alleged enforced disappearances across the country.
