Thirteen Notorious Criminals Terrorizing Ugandans At Clock Tower Arrested

Police in Kampala has arrested suspected criminals who have been terrorizing city dwellers plying around Clock Tower Area.

According to KMP Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the arrests were made in a Tuesday operation conducted by territorial police at Katwe.

At least 13 suspects have been arrested. These are said to have been targeting motorists and passengers from whom they were snatching hand bags, mobile phones and other valuable items during the time when vehicles are stuck in jam.

Ibrah Jemba, who is said to have been the ring leader of the nabbed suspects. Jemba was reportedly using rings on his knuckles to “knock out his victims and cut their faces.”

The notorious ring leader and those he was commanding into acts of criminality have now been detained at Katwe Police Station.

Oyesigyire revealed that the arrested Suspects will face charges of being in possession of suspected narcotic substances and engaging in aggravated robbery. “They will be processed and arraigned in courts of law,” he said.
