A tragic road accident claimed three lives and left one person injured on the morning of October 20, 2025, at Kyoga village, Namusera Parish, Wakiso Town Council, along the Kampala–Hoima highway.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango, the accident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. and involved a motorcycle registration number UGD 327F Bajaj Boxer (red), a parked Sinotruk, and an oncoming vehicle.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcycle, which was carrying four occupants, was traveling from Hoima towards Kampala when it suddenly stopped to avoid hitting the parked Sinotruk and an oncoming vehicle. The abrupt stop caused all four occupants to fall off the motorcycle, resulting in multiple casualties.

The deceased have been identified as Byandagalo Shafick (28), the rider, Galabuzi Robinson (27), and Jjemba Shafick (23). The injured passenger, identified as Edison, a resident of Nkoowe village, Kaliti Parish, Mende Sub-county, Wakiso District, was rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Traffic police officers swiftly responded to the scene, recorded statements, and cleared the road to restore normal traffic flow. The bodies of the deceased were conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination.

SSP Onyango extended condolences to the bereaved families and urged motorists to observe road safety regulations, avoid overloading motorcycles, and exercise extra caution when overtaking or approaching stationary vehicles.

Police said investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
