Three Security Guards Arrested Over Theft Of Arua Hospital Ambulance

Police in Arua has arrested three security guards of Arua Referral Hospital in connection with the theft of Hospital Ambulance-UG 6821M.

The arrest of the three (names withheld) follows a case of motor vehicle theft, reported by the Hospital head of security-Avaga Johnston Norman at Arua Central Police Station.

Dr. Gilbert Aniku, the Deputy Director of Arua Regional Referral Hospital has confirmed the disappearance of the Ambulance but declined to divulge in the case on the grounds that matter was being investigated.

According to West Nile Police Spokesperson Angucia Josephine revealed that three suspects were on night duty on March 27, 2021 when the ambulance was being stolen.

We appeal to the wider public to share any information that could lead to the recovery of the ambulance”,she said.

The suspects are currently detained at Arua central police station helping the detectives with investigations.
