UN Boss Hails CDF Muhoozi’s Role In Strengthening Security Ties In Great Lakes Region

Susan Ngongi Namondo, the outgoing United Nations Resident Coordinator in Uganda, this afternoon paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

During the visit at the SFC Headquarters in Entebbe, Her Excellency Namondo expressed her appreciation for the working relationship between Uganda and the United Nations, thanking the CDF for his role in strengthening these relations.

Namondo, who has been in Uganda since 2021, will now be going to Tanzania in the same role after concluding her duties in Uganda.

Gen Kainerugaba thanked her for her service and efforts to strengthen relations with the UN body through policies that align with national interests.

The General also congratulated her, noting that during Her Excellency’s tenure, Uganda’s UN team had exceeded global standards on the Gender Equality Scorecard.

Meanwhile, Her Excellency expressed her appreciation to the Chief of Defence Forces for his unwavering support to her and the broader UN family during her tenure.

She highlighted Uganda’s commendable role as an anchor of peace within the region and its consistent efforts in promoting regional stability.

She further emphasised the critical importance of close coordination between the Government of Uganda and development partners, noting that this alignment is essential for achieving cohesive and impactful development outcomes.
