Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) has applauded the Army for arresting the person who was impersonating a senior army officer and committing crimes in Kakiri and surrounding areas.

Recently,UPDF arrested a fake Lieutenant identified as Adams Ssentongo, who was found wearing UPDF attire bearing fake pips.

Although Ssentongo initially tried to pose as a military officer when surrounded by soldiers, he eventually admitted that he had never attended any military school. He confessed that he got the attire from a friend who is a soldier.

While addressing the press conference on Wednesday at Uganda House, UPC spokesperson Sharon Ayat Arach asked Ugandan security agencies to make more efforts to stop this Criminality in the entire country.

Maj Charles Kabona, spokesperson of UPDF’s First Division based in Kakiri, said they were compelled to search for Ssentongo after receiving numerous complaints from the public about a soldier threatening to take their land.

Ssentongo was found with another man, identified as Hannington Ssekandi, who claimed to be a soldier serving under the Internal Security Organization (ISO).
