UPDF’s Tugume To Fight American Niemoeller In Intercontinental Kickboxing Duel At Speke Resort

Speke Resort Munyonyo will on December 31, 2020, be the place to be when Uganda’s celebrated kickboxing champion Titus Tugume takes on American Robert Niemoeller in an intercontinental championship fight.

This was announced by the Uganda People’s Defense Forces on Tuesday evening.

Tugume, a serving army officer (WO II) in the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF), has the blessings of his employers who so far are delighted by his achievements in the ring.

Maj Gen Tumusiime Katsigazi, who represented the Chief of Defence Forces Gen David Muhoozi, at the launch of the fight in October this year, appreciated the willingness and purpose Tugume has put in to make the Ugandan flag fly high in the kickboxing sport globally.

Maj Gen Katsigazi appreciated all the medals Tugume has won both internationally and nationally and said that UPDF has the confidence that the upcoming match will be a walkover for him.

He assured Tugume of all the necessary support from the UPDF leadership to ensure that the fight is a success.

On their side as hosts, Speke Resort has assured that they have put in place all the needed SOPs and adhering to the health and safety guidelines ensure a successful fight without endangering stakeholders to COVID19.
