3 Dead In Mbarara_Masaka Road Accident

Three people have been confirmed to have died in a motor accident that happened on the wee hours of thursday morning at Biharwe trading center, along the Mbarara-Masaka highway.

According to eyewitnesses, the tragedy occurred after   at a speeding Range Rover Registration number UAM 338Y lost control and knocked two people who were riding a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle  registration UEU 993F, killing them instantly.

It is said that after knocking the Boda-boda and killing two men, the Range Rover driver identified as   Frank Rweranga,  knocked a tree and died too after smashing the bonnet and engine of the Range Rover.

While addressing the media, the Rwizi Regional Police spokesperson Samson Kasasiira confirmed the incident  and said the vehicle lost control probably because the driver had dozed off.

Kasasiira however noted that the police are still conducting investigations, although  the bodies were taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.

According to Kasasiira,  the police are yet  to establish the cause of the accident, they suspect reckless driving.
